FAQs
How much do your services cost?
We tailor make our packages based on each couples needs and wants. Our fees start at $90 an hour or $55 per hour for on-site Pet Sitting when booked with any of our services. We also charge for travel time and then $1.20 per km which starts from the time we pick your pets up to time of drop off. Tolls will also be charged if applicable.
Do you hire out wedding attire/ plaques for your pets?
Why choose Wedding Paws? What do we offer that other businesses don’t?
We have been accompanying your pets to weddings since 2013. We have plenty of experience in things to do to make your day as easy as it can be. This is more than a job for us, this is a passion. For you to trust us with your fur babies is a real honour.
What is included on a typical wedding day?
We pick your pup up and transport them safely to your ceremony and/or photo session, nicely secured with a seatbelt and comfy dog bed. We arrive approximately 30 minutes prior to the ceremony so your pup has time to have a sniff around, go to the toilet and become comfortable in their surroundings. We then dress them, help with their role during the ceremony or even walk them down the aisle as the ring bearer. We work closely with your photographer to capture those perfect family photos and special moments. Once you are ready to let the celebrations begin, we take your fur baby home where we feed them and help settle them back into their surroundings. We then send you a photo so you can enjoy the rest of your night knowing your pup is safe and sound at home. We take as many photos as possible throughout the day from your pup’s point of view.
Where are we based and how far do we travel?
We are based in Emu Plains just west of Sydney. We service all of Sydney Metro Area, The Hunter Valley, Southern Highlands and Blue Mountains.
Do you only work with dogs?
Do we offer grooming?
No, at this stage we don’t as we don’t have a hydrobath. We recommend that grooming gets done the day before the big day, just to keep your pets’ stress/ anxiety levels as low as possible. Although we can bathe and dry them. We don’t “groom” them.
What legalities should I be aware of?
We abide by the current Road rules as per the below legislation-
The Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act Rule 7, states that a person must not carry or convey a dog (other than a dog being used to work livestock), on the open back of a moving vehicle on a public street unless the dog is restrained or enclosed in such a way as to prevent the dog falling from the vehicle.
Dogs should not ride unrestrained in either the front or back seats of any vehicle as the police may fine you if they deem that you do not have proper control of the vehicle due to the animal interfering with your control. Specially designed animal boxes and harnesses are available and should be used. A pet harness can be attached to the vehicle’s seat belt allowing the dog to sit or lie on the seat. These harness and boxes can be purchased in a variety or sizes from the RSPCA or from pet supply stores.
It is stated in legislation that a driver must not drive with a person or animal in the driver’s lap. This is Road Rule 297 (1A) Drive motor vehicle with person or animal in lap.
We also provide harnesses that will secure your furry ones on the way to and from your wedding.
